Various things can be put on a knife-edge, but it often comes out unpalatable.... unless we are talking about good cheese. And no knife works as well for this task as a special cheese knife! There is hardly a greater variety of shapes and sizes among knives: Knives for hard, semi-hard and soft cheeses are different.
Spade-shaped cutters with the blade inserted into the opening are the ideal choice for hard and semi-hard cheeses. Using them, you can slice Parmesan cheese, for example, and put the slices on a cheese board plate. If you prefer to slice hard cheeses, get a very sharp hard cheese knife.
