Installation

When choosing a soap dish, first consider its purpose: will you be using it to wash your hands in the basin or in the shower? Does your wash basin have a traditional shape that allows you to place the soap dish comfortably and stably directly on top of it, or are its edges too narrow and the soap dish will have to stand next to it? In the shower and over the bath, on the other hand, wall-mounted soap dishes will work well.
Free-standing soap dishes
This is the most classic solution that will work in any bathroom. All you have to do is choose a model from a wide range of designs, shapes and colours. It is a good idea to match the soap dish with the rest of your bathroom accessories, so that the design of the room is consistent. If you have small children in the family, it is better to choose a model made of plastic such as rubber or silicone - then there is no risk of breaking the soap dish.
Wall-mounted soap dishes
They are mounted with a bracket perpendicular to the wall (soap dishes made of steel). They can also be mounted using a suction cup (plastic soap dishes). This solution is ideal for minimalist wash basins without wide rims, popular countertop wash basins, over the bath and in the shower.
Material
Choose a material that suits your bathroom
The material of the soap dish should match the décor of your bathroom, as well as the style of your home.Steel
Stainless steel, whether matt or polished, is a versatile material that will work in interiors with a variety of styles.
Soap dishes made of steel usually have uncomplicated forms, sometimes supplemented with glass or plastic elements. They are easy to clean and will last a long time.
Plastic
Plastic in the form of silicone, rubber or recycled materials is also a good choice for soap dishes and other bathroom accessories.
It can take any shape and colour, is resistant to different temperatures and is easy to wash. Soap dishes made of plastic are especially friendly for the youngest bathroom users.
Ceramics
Easy to clean and tasteful, great for traditional-style bathrooms. However, porcelain is easy to damage, so a ceramic soap dish needs special care.
If you opt for a ceramic soap dish, choose white or light-coloured to create a warming effect in your bathroom.
