Everyone loves receiving gifts, but giving them also brings immense joy! What do you do, however, when you're fresh out of ideas for an original present? You can always make one yourself! In our latest Magazine, we've got some tips for you on how to personalise a gift and give a little piece of yourself, even if handicrafts aren't your strong suit. Just a bit of effort is all it takes to create a one-of-a-kind gift that will bring a smile to the recipient's face and conjure up your shared memories. Sounds good? Let's get to it!

What connects you with the person you want to give something from the heart to? We hope it's more than just a mortgage or a shared room in childhood, otherwise, you wouldn't bother, would you? So, think about what you want the recipient to always remember (even if they'd rather forget). About your preschool style from '91 when you both went there? About that spontaneous and not-entirely-thought-through hitchhiking trip to Mongolia in your final year of school, from which you returned 10 kg lighter and wiser about how your stomach reacts to fermented mare's milk alcohol? Or perhaps about your wedding anniversary, because it somehow slips their mind every year?
Fortunately, there's a ridiculously simple way to ensure you never lose any precious memories again. Make a scrapbook for him/her documenting your shared adventures! You don't need great artistic skills – all you need is a paste-in photo album (this type is the best, as it has blank, large pages that will become your canvas), printed photos, and a bit of a good attitude. We particularly recommend large formats, e.g., 15 x 21 cm photo albums, because your creative nature needs plenty of space, after all. Stick in the photos and describe your moments of glory (there must have been many!), add emoticons and drawings, snippets of your brilliant conversations, quotes... whatever comes to mind. It doesn't have to be perfect; it just has to be 'you'.
Are you more interested in content and fewer pictures? Instead of an album, fill a guestbook for someone – from a trip, from school days, or from the engagement period. Or perhaps you don't have any shared experiences, but you share the same passion – for wine, dancing and singing, or even just cooking? If so, share your knowledge – knowledge is the greatest treasure (at least that's what they said at school...), and thus also the best gift. Notebooks for special tasks will come in handy here, thanks to which you can reveal your secret recipes or recommendations for favourite drinks to the recipient. If that doesn't impress them, nothing will!
Or perhaps you want everyone to see how much you and the recipient have in common? Even if it's not great adventures, then maybe the same sense of humour, literary taste, or love for the same bands? If so, transfer the contents of an album to a board. Multi-photo frames with strings and clips for attaching cards will work perfectly as a board. You can hang photos, drawings, collages, cards with quotes... or even mementoes, such as a ticket from your first concert together. Such a gift will surely take pride of place in the recipient's home!

Or perhaps you want to give someone everything they love, within arm's reach and as real as if it were right there? People with sensitive noses remember things through scents, so a fragrance burner or electric warmer with a set of waxes you've chosen will make their heart melt like wax. ;) Among Woodwick scented waxes, you'll find many excellent compositions: for a good night's sleep, for concentration, for a pleasant mood, but also those that evoke memories. The woody, smoky Evening Bonfire smells exactly like the bonfire where you met years ago, and Humidor – like your poker nights. Every acquaintance is unique, so the set you put together will also be one of a kind. Don't forget to label the waxes – after all, you want to show how well you know the recipient.
If none of the above suggestions have convinced you, think about... a gift basket. Yes, you read that right. Gift baskets are often associated with a mix of sweets wrapped in film, but we want to change that perception! A special set of carefully selected gifts will certainly bring a lot of joy if you tailor it to the recipient's needs and taste. What can you pack into the basket? We recommend, for example, creating a traveller's set, an athlete's, an artist's... the possibilities are endless! You'll find more of our gift basket suggestions in the Magazine: DIY Gift Basket. A heartfelt present in 6 ways. Get inspired by our ideas or create your own package. To make it more contemporary, instead of a basket, you can use, for example, a photo box. And what else can you pack into a basket? Check out our range of gifts, something is sure to catch your eye!
