Has a friend shared a recipe for the perfect pizza with you and you're not sure what's best to make it on? We have a few suggestions for you today. Use our tips and enjoy the taste of your favourite Italian dish.

A special pizza stone just like in Italy

Preparing a pizza is possible in almost every home - all you need is a classic oven. However, what you place the dough on is important - and the best result is guaranteed by a professional pizza stone. This inconspicuous accessory collects heat within itself and then transfers it evenly to the dough. This is what makes the bottom so well-toasted and crispy. The stones absorb moisture very well and shorten the entire baking process - only 5-10 minutes of baking is required to achieve a perfect bottom. After this time, the dough is perfectly crispy, but not dry or burnt. A pizza baked on a special stone also has a different taste than a pizza baked on a classic baking tray - thanks to the even distribution of heat. It is worth bearing in mind that a professional baking stone can also be used for other types of dough - e.g. bread or cookies. It is therefore a really worthwhile investment that can be used in the kitchen on a daily basis.

Pizza stones are divided according to the material of construction, among other things. A popular option is a chamotte stone, which holds the temperature very well and is especially suitable for thin-bottomed pizzas. Their greater porosity, however, can somewhat get in the way if you want to prepare a different dough. Granite stone, on the other hand, is very durable and scratch-resistant but is a much heavier stone. Like the chamotte variant, it retains its heat for a long time and it works well with dishes other than pizza. It is a good choice especially for pizza lovers with thicker bottoms - as a granite stone does not absorb moisture as well as a chamotte one. Ceramic stones are also a popular choice - the lightest of all available options. However, it should be borne in mind that they are among the less durable models. In the FormAdore shop, you will find solid pizza stones in round or rectangular versions - reliable solutions which can serve the fans of Italian cuisine for many years.

The classic baking tray

You can enjoy the taste of your favourite Italian dish even if you don't own a professional stone. All you need is a good quality baking tray - preferably a special variant just for pizza. The best choice is a baking tray with a perforated base which allows air to circulate - this makes the bottom particularly crispy and crunchy. They have special holes that allow adequate air flow and enable the dough to be perfectly cris py. Silicone mats are extremely practical, as they can easily be rolled up into a narrow roll, thus saving space in kitchen drawers. If you don't have a special tray or mat for pizza dough, you can use the one already in your oven. In time, however, it is worth investing in a variant with a perforated bottom - you will notice the difference in the crispness of the dough after just one use. A pizza tray is an inexpensive accessory that has a significant impact on the final results of your kitchen experiments.

Pay attention to oven functions

Manufacturers of electric appliances are increasingly offering customers ovens with a pizza function, which allows you to prepare an even better Italian 'pie'. If you plan to make it at home on a regular basis, it is worth considering purchasing this type of equipment - you will certainly appreciate it after the first tasting of the famous yeasty pie with toppings. There are also home pizza ovens on sale. We are talking about compact ovens for the home kitchen, as well as large models fired by wood, gas or pellets. The latter are designed for use in the garden and resemble the ovens used for baking pizzas in professional pizzerias. This is a real treat for the greatest lovers of Italian food. So if you care about the perfect taste of your pizza and you have it on your table regularly, such an investment can turn out to be a really good decision.

But what if you don't have an oven?

Well, not everyone has an oven at home. Some have a kitchen that's too small for it, while others didn't fit into the built-in. Does that mean they can't make themselves a delicious pizza? Luckily not! Discover our clever recipes and read our 'Pizza from the Pan' magazine.

What else do you need to make homemade pizza?

You already know what to make the pizza on so that it delights with its taste and appearance. However, you still need additional accessories to prepare and serve this delicious dish - such as a special pizza cutter, also known as a knurling knife. Already at first glance, it differs from classic knives - and this is due to its wheel-shaped blade, which spins while slicing. "The wheel" is attached to a comfortable handle, and moreover - it has a special guard to protect the hand from injury. Knives designed specifically for pizzas make it significantly easier to obtain perfect slices - a real must-have in the kitchen of any lover of this Italian dish.

In addition to the knife, a sturdy round serving board, which can also be rotated, is also useful for serving pizza. They are most often designed in such a way that putting and sliding the pizza onto the plate does not cause any difficulties.
