for carnival, besides being delicious -- they should also be quick and easy to prepare. That's why one of our suggestions for carnival appetizers is skewers inspired by the popular Italian Caprese salad. Perfect for a single bite!

Ingredients:

  • 10 cherry tomatoes
  • 10 small mozzarella balls
  • 20 fresh basil leaves
  • 0.5 teaspoon olive oil
  • spices: salt and pepper

Preparation:

Wash the tomatoes and cut them in half. Drain the mozzarella from its brine. Take a few sticks from a toothpick dispenser and thread them with a tomato half, a basil leaf, mozzarella, another basil leaf, and the second tomato half. Remember to leave a bit of the toothpick sticking out of the skewers. This will make it easy for guests to pick them up. Arrange the skewers on a platter, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Tartines with Smoked Salmon and Cheese Balls

Tartines, or small, decorative open-faced sandwiches, are impressively presented and exquisitely tasty appetizers that shouldn't be missing from any carnival party. They are truly express to prepare. A real party hit that no one will be able to resist!

Ingredients:

  • 4-5 slices of pumpernickel bread
  • 200 g smoked salmon
  • 250 g cottage cheese
  • 120 g blue cheese
  • 100 g smoked yellow cheese
  • a bunch of dill
  • a bunch of chives
  • spices: salt and pepper

Preparation:

Grate the blue cheese and yellow cheese on a cheese grater with small holes, and mash the cottage cheese with a fork. Combine all types of cheese and form small balls from the mixture. Cut circles from the bread or slice it into small, even squares. Finely chop the chives and dill and mix them together. Roll the cheese balls in the herbs. Place the cheese balls and a piece of smoked salmon on the prepared bread pieces. Skewer the sandwiches with appetizer forks. Serve the prepared tartines to guests on a serving board.

Crackers with Cheese Spread

Delicious and wonderfully looking mini sandwiches made from crackers with cheese spread, which you can prepare in just a few minutes, are a great idea for carnival snacks. They will look excellent placed on a serving board, right next to the tartines. They only have one flaw – they disappear from the table in no time!

Ingredients:

  • 30 salted crackers
  • 300 g yellow cheese
  • 3 tablespoons cream cheese spread
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2-3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • freshly ground pepper
  • for decoration: walnut halves, parsley

Preparation:

Grate the yellow cheese on a coarse grater. Add the garlic cloves pressed through a press and the cream cheese. Mix thoroughly. Add mayonnaise and pepper, mix again. Spread the paste evenly on the crackers. Decorate each cracker sandwich with walnut halves and parsley. Just before serving, sprinkle the crackers with pepper.

Their flavor will be even better and more distinct if you serve them with your favorite dips and sauces. Garlic and paprika sauce pair perfectly with French snails.

Ingredients:

  • 1 package puff pastry
  • 10 slices of cold cuts
  • 10 slices of yellow cheese
  • 5 tablespoons spicy ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon each of basil, oregano, and dried garlic
  • a pinch of salt and pepper

Preparation:

Mix ketchup, mayonnaise, and spices. Spread the ketchup sauce over the puff pastry and arrange slices of cheese and ham on top. Roll the pastry along the longer side and cut into 2-centimeter slices. Transfer the snails to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and place in an oven preheated to 200 degrees Celsius. Bake for about 20 minutes.

Ingredients for the dough:

  • 250 g wheat flour
  • 125 g cold butter
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon 18% cream
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Ingredients for the filling:

  • 200 g fresh spinach leaves
  • 175 g sun-dried tomatoes in oil
  • 150 g feta cheese
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 tablespoons 18% cream
  • spices: nutmeg, salt, pepper

Preparation:

Chop the flour with baking powder and salt with cold butter. Add the egg, cream, and quickly knead the dough. Form a ball, wrap it in cling film, and refrigerate for about 45 minutes. Transfer the spinach to a pan, add a little water, mix, and cook until wilted. Then drain it in a sieve, chop, and season with nutmeg. Cut the feta and sun-dried tomatoes into smaller pieces and mix with the spinach. In a bowl, whisk the eggs, add the cream and the spinach mixed with the other ingredients. Add salt and pepper. Grease tartlet molds with butter and line them with dough. Prick them in several places with a fork. Spread the filling evenly over the dough. Place the tartlets in an oven preheated to 180 degrees Celsius and bake for about 25-30 minutes. The filling should be lightly set, and the pastry nicely browned.

Preparation:

Mix the cream cheese with mayonnaise and chives. Add finely chopped tomatoes, grated eggs, and spices. Stuff the pasta shells with the paste, arrange them on a platter, and sprinkle with finely chopped chives.

Layered with delicious and colorful ingredients, topped with an aromatic garlic sauce and toasted almond flakes – this salad is the queen of all parties!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cooked broccoli
  • 3 tomatoes
  • 2 single chicken fillets (about 500 g)
  • 1 can of corn
  • 1 package of feta cheese
  • 2 handfuls of almond flakes
  • spices: salt, pepper, gyros seasoning
  • oil for frying

Ingredients for garlic sauce:

  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 4 tablespoons natural yogurt
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1.5 teaspoons Provencal herbs
  • salt and pepper

Preparation:

Clean the fillets, cut into cubes, season with salt, pepper, and gyros seasoning. Fry in hot oil. Set aside to cool. Wash and chop the tomatoes. Cube the feta cheese. Toast the almond flakes in a dry pan. Prepare the garlic sauce. Add mayonnaise and yogurt to a bowl – mix. Add the garlic cloves pressed through a press, Provencal herbs, salt, and pepper. Combine all ingredients thoroughly. Prepare a large salad bowl and arrange the ingredients in layers: cooked broccoli florets, tomatoes, chicken, drained corn, and feta cheese. Drizzle the salad with garlic sauce and sprinkle with toasted almond flakes.
