The object on display was designed by Chinese designer Gary Chang. It is part of the "(Un)Forbidden City" collection, consisting of 8 platters designed by the best architects of the Middle Kingdom. Trick and Treat was created as a platter, but because of its versatile form it works well as a container, vase, candle holder, tissue tray and in many other roles, limited only by the user's imagination. The steel casing is made of a single piece of brushed material, concealing a melamine, removable container. The two, matte-finished elements, work perfectly together to create an intriguing object.
