Window cleaning, vacuuming, floor polish. Plus a whole heap of rubbish to take out. And you still have to polish your wedding china and your grandmother's inherited crystal. Every year, Christmas cleaning costs us a lot of time and effort. And it can be done more simply. And we don't need a host of helpers. All you need is the right timetable and a few clever gadgets.

Set a timetable

Good organisation is essential. So let's devise a plan of action! It should be detailed and, above all, written down. It is easy to forget things during the busy, festive season. It will also be a great motivation: "Let's do what we can", as the poet once said. So let's plan each day meticulously. If you have a few volunteers at home, assign tasks to them as well. A schedule should be posted in a visible place. Hang it on the fridge or on a magnetic board, which can also hold a Christmas shopping list.

Christmas cleaning - time to go!

Christmas cleaning starts with getting rid of the things you no longer need. Throwing away unnecessary junk will give you extra space and a bit of positive energy. A general clean-up requires us to look in places that are normally inaccessible. Move furniture out of the way and lift up sofas to declare war on the dust that collects there. Let's also remember the walls and ceiling. We can sweep away the cobwebs with a long brush, but what about a delicate lampshade? You don't have to climb a ladder with a cloth in your hand, use a soft microfibre broom with a fold-out handle to reach even the furthest corners. You can also use it to easily clean high-hanging curtain rails. And you don't have to climb into the bathtub to clean the bathroom tiles. And forget about dangerously wobbly stools. Instead of trying to balance, let's be clever! Use the telescopic cleaner to clean every tile - quickly and effortlessly. Don't let dirty joints or uncleaned crevices spoil your work. Equip yourself with small brushes for hard-to-reach areas.

Sweeping brushes and suitable cleaning products will also come in handy when cleaning.

Checking off completed tasks on the list will be a lot of fun and at the same time will provide motivation for further action. Consistency and good organisation will allow you to tackle the tidying up in good time. This way, you can set the table unhurriedly on Christmas Eve, water the flowers while waiting for your guests or fold decorative napkins.

Keep things tidy even after Christmas

We all know that tidying up is tedious work, whereas making a mess takes just a moment. It's enough to put a few things away in a hurry in the morning, and in a few days there will be no trace of your tidying up. So remember to be self-disciplined. Decorative baskets and organisers will certainly come in handy - not only will they hide loads of junk, they'll be a great decoration for your home!

And the kitchen is easier to keep tidy with a homemade composter.
