Cotton bedding - the most popular among the beddings

Cotton sheets are very popular among such products. No wonder, after all, a set of bedding made of this material has a number of advantages. Cotton bedding is nice, soft and pleasant to the touch. It is associated with lightness and warmth, so it is perfect in summer as well as in winter. On the one hand, it is breathable, on the other hand, it perfectly accumulates heat. It stands out with its hygroscopic properties, so it absorbs perspiration perfectly. In addition, it is resistant to creases and various mechanical damages. Cotton bedding is characterized by durability and strength, it will not fray or stretch, even despite its long service life. It's the best bedding for babies and people with allergies, because it is safe for delicate skin, it does not cause irritation and does not accumulate fungus and mould.

Cotton sateen linen - elegant and stylish

Cotton sateen linen is considered to be one of the best on the market. What is a cotton sateen? It is a material made of cotton fibres, for which the sateen weave was used. Very often, the terms cotton sateen and sateen cotton are used interchangeably. Is that right? Yes, because it's the same material. Cotton weave bedding is called cotton sateen or sateen cotton, and the only difference between them is the type of a used weave - in cotton sateen a "checkered" weave is used, and in sateen cotton a "rhombus" weave is used.

Sateen linen helps with healthy regeneration during sleep. It's breathable and therefore, ensures proper air circulation, allowing your skin to breathe, and has perfect wicking properties, preventing sweating during resting. Cotton sateen linen sets combine the advantages of sateen and cotton, so they are suitable for both hot days, giving a feeling of gentle chill, as well as winter days, pleasantly wrapping in warmth. Cotton sateen linen is gently shining, it's light, soft and pleasant to the touch. It also has hypoallergenic properties, and that is why it is recommended for people with allergies. Sateen cotton is durable and longlasting, it does not fade even after many washings and it retains its original properties.

The sateen bedding is aesthetic and looks great on a bed, due to the slightly shiny material, adding style and elegance to each set. Like cotton, it comes in many patterns, colours and sizes. Among our suggestions, we'll find the beddings for married couples, singles, as well as for babies, which will perfectly complement the interior design in both modern and traditional styles.

When buying the bedding, whether cotton or sateen, we usually pay attention to its size, pattern and colour. When choosing a set for a bedroom, it is worth noting one more aspect - the Thread Count (TC), which is the density of a material's weave, determining the number of vertically and horizontally interwoven threads per square inch, i.e. approximately 6.5 cm2.

Interesting

It is worth looking for bedding with a weave density above 200 TC. The bigger TC, the better the material quality. The quality goes hand in hand with the price, so the higher the density of the weave, the smoother, more durable and more expensive it is.

How to take care of the bedding?

Regular washing, cleaning, airing as well as proper storage of the bed linen will affect its durability, comfort of use and beautiful appearance. How to take care of bed linen so that our bedroom is always clean and fresh?

Bed linen washing

One of the most important aspects is bed linen washing. At what temperature should I wash the bed linen to not destroy it? Cotton sheets are recommended to be washed in a washing machine at 60 degrees Celsius and sateen ones at a temperature of between 40 and 60 degrees Celsius. It's a general rule, so before the first wash always check the tag, on which the bedding manufacturer places instructions and information on how to wash the bedding. By following the manufacturer's recommendations, we can be sure that the washing temperature will be properly adjusted to the characteristics and specificity of the fabric.

The way the bedding is washed is just as important as the proper temperature of washing. Before putting it in the washing machine, turn all pillowcases inside out, which will protect the fabric from damage and allow it to keep its intense color for longer. It is worth fastening the buttons or zippers, to prevent the fabric from getting tangled up or torn apart by an unfastened lock. You also need to pay attention for the selection of laundry detergents. In the case of cotton and sateen bedding, bleach should not be used, as it can irreversibly damage the material. We also recommend reducing the spin speed when washing.

How often should you change your sheets? It is difficult to give a clear answer to such a question, because it is quite an individual issue, depending mainly on personal preferences, but also on the degree of soiling of the bedding. For hygiene, health and comfort we recommend changing the sheets at least twice a month.

The advice on how to take care of your bedding must also include the advice on how to air it. Regularly rubbing and aerating your bedding allows you to get rid of mites, germs and other contaminants. The bedding is recommended to be ventilated all year round, both in summer in the sun and in winter in the cold.

And finally, one more piece of advice. Try to keep the bedding in a closed box under the bed or a drawer. The bedding left on the bed gets very dusty.

Choose a high quality set of bedding for your bedroom, pillowcases and sheets which, together with a good mattress, guarantee a comfortable and healthy sleep.
