Tropical patterns, colours like ice cream, deep indigo, gilding and geometrics - these are the trends as they apply to us this summer! colourful, bold and sensual in our homes! No more greys - it's time for an explosion of colours, which we are now combining in unexpected combinations and pairing with intriguing patterns. Here are 5 trends for summer interiors:

The colours of Italian gelato

Pastel colours, characteristic of ice cream, reign supreme in interiors and allow for interesting retro combinations.

Pastel pinks, blues and turquoise are colours that all sweet tooths invariably associate with... ice cream! ice cream! In summer 2018, we can choose the colours for the wall and the colours of the accessories just as if we were choosing our favourite ice cream. Pistachio with strawberry? Or rather vanilla with peach? Such tasty combinations reigned supreme in bedrooms and kitchens in the 1950s. They are what distinguish Smeg's collection of small appliances, 50's Style - but now we don't have to limit ourselves!

In the FormAdore range, you will find a whole range of decorative accessories in "ice" colours: from charming vases and pots to cuddly carpets and decorative cushions. In addition, we recommend accessories from the Koziol Home range, decorations from Bloomingville, pastel Karlsson clocks, textiles and wallpaper from Ferm Living.

Pastel furniture and accessories for the living room or bedroom

A living room or bedroom in the sweet tones of raspberries with cream or fuzzy blue does not have to be infantile at all. While in the living room, we recommend combining bright colours with white or grey, in the bedroom the candy reality is welcome. Such colours are conducive to relaxation! So choose a pink carpet and pastel cushions - and enjoy the cosy atmosphere!

Colours reminiscent of the flavours of your favourite ice cream are a great idea for kitchen accessories! A food processor in vanilla or raspberry will be a tabletop decoration, as will matching bowls, plates and cups.

2. gilding in the art déco style

Gilded clock faces and gold accessories.... These are decorations that will make a statement, and not just in the living room!

Gilding is a trend that appeared in interiors some time ago - and is still on! Gilded accessories are like gold jewellery - they make an interior shine with an unparalleled radiance whenever they are in sight. A brass coffee table, a metallised cabinet or gold figurines and vases will give even the most frugal interior a touch of originality!

Gold furniture and lighting

Gold furniture? Can it be! The gilded and metallized surfaces of cabinets, tables or chairs are a truly unusual finish that requires a sophisticated setting. A gilded lampshade will go perfectly with such furnishings!

Gilded vases, clocks and figurines

If a gold piece of furniture is too much, we recommend small accents to brighten up a console in the living room or add sparkle to a wall in the bedroom.

3. Tropical motifs

If there's gilding, there's also palm tree, pineapple and monstera leaf motifs! The tropics reign supreme in summer interiors in the form of leafy prints and motifs taken from hot beaches and deserted islands. Accessories in this style, such as candle holders, vases or decorative pillows, will not only make you feel like you are on permanent holiday but will also refresh your interior and be an interesting change for the summer (and winter) months. So opt for decorations with pineapples and palm trees, as well as similar decorative pillowcases, curtains and carpets.

4. Deep indigo

Indigo blue is the colour found in nature in indigo leaves.

As a counterbalance to bright pastels and strong gilding and motifs, we propose the colour indigo. It is a deep garnet shade that is extremely elegant. For the brave, we recommend one wall in the living room in this colour, and for the more conservative, we recommend accessories in shades of this colour, which together will create an original composition. We are of course talking about vases, figurines and decorative bowls. Such colours can be found, for example, in the Java and Naomi collections by Bloomingville.

5. Modern geometrics

Simple, blocky geometric patterns are still on trend - on carpets, chair cushions, wallpaper, and even crockery. This is for those who prefer simplicity and timeless versatility!

Summer trends... not just for summer!

The trends presented above are not only suitable for the quickly passing sunny months. Take inspiration from them and create your own interesting combinations!
