The design of
the Quaint wall clock was inspired by the appearance of
old clocks and the damage they suffered
from external influ ences - such as the effects of sun, wind, rain, snow and frost.
The circular dial was subjected to an original coating technique called 'Nuka yaki shudo-shoku', which is used in the town of Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture, Japan. The techniques used are designed to expose the natural properties of
brass, the material from which the Quaint clock dial is made. The silver colour was obtained by applying
a coating of pure silver, the green colour was achieved using a
corrosive gas - in this case ammonia vapour, while the brown shade was achieved by applying a pattern and subjecting the dial to darkening and
thermal and chemical treatment. The
index, hands and dial rim are natural
gold-coloured brass and have been
polished.
The Japanese brand Lemnos takes its name from the Greek island inhabited, according to Greek mythology, by
the god Hephaestus - the protector of all craftsmen. Indeed, the brand's clocks are produced with the care and commitment typical of craftsmen who put not only their skills but also their hearts into their work. Lemnos clocks are additionally an example of beautiful and functional design. These are clocks which, in addition to telling time, define the character and create the personality of the interiors in which they are placed.
