The Dressed tableware series is part of an extremely wide-ranging collection designed by Marcel Wanders for the Alessi brand. The Dutch-born designer has made the Dressed collection one of his trademarks. A characteristic feature of the products in this line is the use of ornaments in an unconventional way, by applying them in unusual places, sometimes completely out of sight of the users. This unusual approach makes interacting with the Dutchman's objects an experience that relates to both the sense of sight and touch. Marcel Wanders' designs are elegant and light, yet full of richness, floral motifs and baroque splendour. The Dressed collection includes porcelain crockery, trays, glasses and pots.
The three-piece jam container shown here is part of the Dressed collection dedicated to everyday, yet exquisite breakfasts. The collection's characteristic baroque motifs decorate a porcelain tray with three bowls for jam, honey, chocolate, etc. The bowls are closed with stainless steel lids fitted with elegant, handy handles. These handles correspond with the other pieces in the Dressed breakfast collection - butter dish, sugar bowl, tea spoons, etc.
