The
Dressed tableware series is part of an extremely wide-ranging collection designed by
Marcel Wanders for the Alessi brand. The Dutch-born designer has made the Dressed collection one of his trademarks. A characteristic feature of the products in this line is the use of ornaments in
an unconventional way, by applying them in
unusual places, sometimes completely out of sight of the users. This unusual approach makes interacting with the Dutchman's objects an experience that relates to both the sense of sight and touch. Marcel Wanders' designs are elegant and light, yet full of
richness,
floral motifs and
baroque splendour. The
Dressed collection includes porcelain crockery, trays, glasses and pots.
The
thermoplastic resin egg glass shown here is part of the Dressed collection dedicated to everyday, yet exquisite breakfasts. The beautiful, rich form of the glass, available in a range of colours, goes hand in hand with the
unusual design of the spoon included in the set. This teaspoon (made of polished 18/10 stainless steel) was specially designed for
soft-boiled eggs by their admirer and culinary expert Alberto Gozzi. The spoon, with its
tiny mal let at the end of the handle, will allow you to reach the appetising centre in an extremely elegant manner, while the accompanying accessories of the breakfast collection, such as the creamer and jam containers, will become the perfect complement to the unique setting of the daily breakfast. After all, breakfast should be eaten like a king....
