The Dressed tableware series is part of the collection from the Alessi Spring/Summer 2011 catalogue, designed by Marcel Wanders. The hallmark of the author of 'Dressed' has become the unconventional way in which decorations are applied, in unusual, often invisible places at first glance. This unusual method, which is in opposition to standard techniques of decorating elements of interior furnishings, makes interacting with the objects designed by the Dutchman a highly sensual experience, based not only on visual sensations, but above all on the feelings evoked by the touch of unusual material textures. The Dressed collection, as the name suggests, is a series of richly decorated tableware, whose decoration, like that of a beautiful dress from a top designer, optimally highlights the shapes without overshadowing them with its opulence. Marcel Wanders' designs combine floral motifs with baroque splendour, maintained in an elegant style. Thanks to the contrast between the bas-relief decoration and the smooth, glossy background, the entire collection also acquires a lightness. The Dressed line includes crockery, tea and coffee service, crystal glasses, steel cutlery, tray, plate holder and glass and bottle holders made of 18/10 stainless steel.
The elegant, streamlined Dressed cutlery provides the perfect backdrop to the crockery in this collection. Available both in sets and separately, they also offer a wide range of speciality cutlery. These include the cake spatula presented here, which combines the soft lines of the handle with its rounded, classic, shape. Dressed - served with taste.
