Dressed Butter knife

The Dressed tableware series is part of an extremely wide-ranging collection designed by Marcel Wanders for the Alessi brand. The Dutch-born designer has made the Dressed collection one of his trademarks. A characteristic feature of the products in this line is the use of ornaments in an unconventional way, by applying them in unusual places, sometimes completely out of sight of the users. This unusual approach makes interacting with the Dutchman's objects an experience that relates to both the sense of sight and touch. Marcel Wanders' designs are elegant and light, yet full of richness, floral motifs and baroque splendour. The Dressed collection includes porcelain tableware, trays, glasses and pots.
The butter knife shown here, made of polished 18/10 stainless steel, is part of the Dressed collection dedicated to the everyday, yet exquisite, breakfast. The beautiful, rich form of the knife, with its handle typical of the cutlery in the collection and the slug at the end of the blade for, goes hand in hand with the design of the other pieces in the breakfast collection.
