What type of bowl should you choose?

Deep bowls will be perfect for salads, metal baskets will hold a large amount of fresh fruit, and platters are great for displaying not only a cake but also other types of sweets or snacks. When choosing a bowl, consider what you will primarily be using it for.

Bowls

A decorative one will work well in the living room or dining room, a simple one will be ideal for serving salads or lining fruit. The colourful plastic bowls are both capacious and lightweight, as well as easy to clean. Glass and metal bowls are heavier and usually in neutral colours, so they suit minimalist and industrial interiors.

Advantages:

  • deep bowls are not only suitable for food, they can also be used to store personal trinkets such as jewellery, wallets, mobile phone accessories, etc;
  • the wide range of bowls allows you to find the perfect model;
  • The airtight and streamlined shape of most bowls means that sauces, soups or drinks can also be served in them without any problems.

Fruit baskets

An original fruit basket in unusual shapes will be a unique accent to any interior. In our shop you will find unique, hand-welded fruit baskets by Alessi, woven baskets by House Doctor, as well as baskets made of elegant ash wood and polished stainless steel by the Italian manufacturer Legnoart. The raw materials provide a wonderful frame for colourful, juicy fruit or vegetables.

Advantages:

  • simple metal fruit baskets are versatile furnishings for the living room, kitchen and dining room;
  • baskets with unusual shapes attract the attention of guests and add a unique character to the interior;
  • Larger baskets can also be used as organisers for newspapers, leaflets or other accessories.

Platters

Flatter than bowls, they were traditionally used to line cakes and pastries. Today's modernised versions of platters can take many different shapes and rarely resemble a flat, round plate on a stand anymore. You can opt for a retro-style platter with an organic leaf-like form, or a stark black platter made of "scattered" rectangular pieces of stainless steel.

Advantages:

  • the original platter will make your table stand out and make every meal unique;
  • the high quality of the materials used allows for long and trouble-free use;
  • perfect for serving sweets, fruit and other snacks.

What material should the bowl or platter be made of?

Depending on the style of your interior, you can choose between bowls made of metal, glass, porcelain, wood and plastic or a combination of these materials. When deciding on a particular model, pay attention to the manufacturer's recommended cleaning method (not all bowls and platters are dishwasher-safe).

Metal

The most common metal used for bowls, baskets and platters is steel, sometimes in a raw version, sometimes covered with enamel. Matt or shiny, silver or with a coloured coating - steel is a versatile and timeless material. It looks good both on its own and in combination with wood, glass or plastic. Metal offers the greatest possibilities when it comes to the shape of the vessels, so the choice of bowls and baskets made of this material is the widest.

Wood

Wooden trays, baskets or bowls are a wonderful addition to interiors where wood is predominant. Dark ones, made of exotic wood varieties, will suit traditionally decorated rooms, while light ones will perfectly complement Scandinavian arrangements. Dishes made of hand-finished wood can be used as trays, bowls, as well as striking serving boards for snacks. You will also find unique fruit baskets made of rattan in our shop, which are also suitable as storage containers for personal trinkets.

Plastic

How about a bowl shaped like the brush of a thick marker or a platter in the form of an apple with a distinctive tail? Plastic can be shaped in any way you like and, if accompanied by good design, the effect is guaranteed! Among the plastic bowls, you also have the widest choice of colours, so if you want to liven up your kitchen or living room with a colourful accent, choose one of the products made of this material.

Glass

It can be hand-blown, as in products from the Danish brand Holmegaard, in different thicknesses, transparent and coloured. It can have a classic oval shape, a simple geometric form or a richly decorated surface. For lovers of the latest trends, we offer crystal bowls, referring to the "crystals" once popular in Poland, but with decidedly more modern lines and architectural character.

Ceramics

Porcelain is a material that warms up an interior and adds a homely, idyllic feel. Ceramic bowls can also be used as tureens for soups, sauces or one-pot dishes. In our range, you will find bowls decorated with designs by famous designers, such as Arne Jacobsen or Kaj Franck. You can choose a simple bowl in a strong colour or a ceramic platter printed with original characters from Tove Jansson's fairy tale about the Moomins.
