The idea for the designer cuckoo clock was prompted by a single question: how do we ensure that people still enjoy glancing at analogue clocks in the age of smartphones?
Main features:
- The Bockoo clock has compact dimensions and the form of... a book. The shape is designed to encourage users to place the clock on a bookshelf and read more often than reach for their phone.
- The cuckoo in the centre announces the full hours. Its volume can be adjusted and the mechanism also features a light sensor.
- The dial is easy to read and the Arabic numerals are very clear, contrasting with the background.
How to use:
- The Bockoo clock will work well in both the living room and the office.
Materials used:
- It was created from steel, MDF and plywood.
Good to know!
- It was designed by designer Fumiaki Goto for the Japanese brand Lemnos.
