The Wine Saver pump is one of the flagship products of the Dutch company Vacu Vin. Patented in 1987, the system was even featured on a postage stamp in a series commemorating interesting inventions from the country of windmills and tulips. Thanks to them, preserving the aroma of unopened wine is exceptionally easy - all you have to do is use the system and put the bottle in the fridge, and the beverage preserved in this way maintains its properties even for several days. This is because the vacuum pump is used to remove air from an open bottle of wine, which delays its oxidation process. The set is very simple to use. Close the open bottle of wine with the vacuum cap, then place the pump on top of the cap and move the plunger until you hear the characteristic "click". This sound lets you know that all the air has been pumped out. To open the bottle, simply tilt the tab in the middle of the cork, which makes opening easier by equalising the pressure.
