An extremely ingenious solution to facilitate quick clean-up after brewing coffee in a plunger instrument. Designer Rikke Sonderby's ingenious idea not only saves time, but also prevents the large quantities of water that usually accompany washing the brewer after use. The cartridge is placed in the brewer before the ground beans are thrown in, the desired amount of coffee is poured in and, as usual, hot water is poured over it. Once the coffee has been brewed and served, the cartridge is attached (using a magnet) to the lowered piston. The brewing residue accumulated inside the cartridge floats together with the piston being pulled out of the pot. All you have to do is dispose of the contents of the cartridge in the bio-waste bin.
The cartridge is available in two sizes: the 8.9 cm version is for standard size piston brewers; the 8.3 cm version is for the Stelton piston brewer by Erik Magnussen.
