The Kastehelmi collection, designed in 1964 by the famous Oiva Toikka, is a collection for those who are fascinated by the beauty of glass and care about having unusual designs on their table, transforming everyday meals into fine-dining style dishes. Kastehelmi means dewdrop in Finnish, which evidently inspired the creation of this unique tableware. The small glass bubbles evenly distributed like bead necklaces around the surface of the dishes - plates, bowls, goblets and candlesticks from the collection - give them an unusual personality that, although completely unique, blends in beautifully with the other porcelain sets.
The flat plate shown here, with a diameter of 17 cm, is the smallest of the three types of plate available in the collection. This plate will work perfectly as a plate for a cake or a small snack.
