Product description

Description

NOTE: The product shown here is a dish with a lid. The clips and seals necessary for pasteurising the products are sold separately.
Who doesn't love homemade preserves! But now you can love them even more and not only at the stage of consuming homemade jams and preserves, but already at the stage of preparing and pasteurising them. It is all thanks to Weck jars and bottles, which have been known in Polish kitchens since their grandfather and great-grandfather, or rather grandmother and great-grandmother, from the best, because from the sweetest side. Made of high-quality thick glass and decorated with the well-known image of a strawberry, which is the logo of the brand established in 1900 in Germany, the dishes motivate to wash and peel fruit and vegetables and seal them in jars like no other.
The rounded base j ar shown here is available in three sizes - the smallest, with a capacity of 220 ml and a lid diameter of 6 cm, the medium with a capacity of 580 ml and the largest with a capacity of 1062 ml - the larger jars have a lid diameter of 10 cm. The jars can withstand repeated pasteurisation, washing and sterilisation. Most importantly, however, homemade pickled vegetables or fruit purees look exceptionally appetising in them. Each Weck jar and bottle comes with a lid. It is also possible to buy a matching seal and clips to close and pasteurise the preserves according to the traditional method. Homemade preserves sealed in vessels from Weck will also make a beautiful and sweet (probably) gift for family and friends.

The product meets my expectations, although I still think the price is too high. It would be good if instructions for curing preserves were included.

I ordered 3 jars (2 small for 220ml and 1 for 580ml) from the lid with inpost delivery. Unfortunately after unpacking it turned out that one lid was broken. I reported the problem and the very nice lady from FormAdore informed me that she would send me another jar without any problem as soon as possible. I am really impressed by FormAdore's quick and excellent service. The jars are beautiful and very comfortable. The quality is also very good. Thank you very much and I will definitely come back for another purchase)

More about this product

WECKING GUIDE 1. how to store food and preserves in Weck brand jars? Important: Remember that in order to properly protect your food in Weck jars you need: a jar with lid (sold together as a set), 2 clips and 1 gasket s ized to the diameter of the jar (sold separately) a) Before use, be sure to check that the rims of the jar collar and lid are not chipped or damaged and that the gasket is not cracked or faded. (b) Wash the jars and lids in warm water and scald them with boiling water or in the oven. Place the seals in clean, cold water. c) Fill jars up to 1 cm from the top rim for hot products with the consistency of jams, purees, marmalades, up to 2 cm from the top rim of the jar with products that swell, and up to 2 cm from the top rim of the jar with liquids - juices, purees, etc. d) Before closing the jars, make sure that their edges are clean - if they get dirty while filling with preserves, clean them with a clean cloth soaked in spirit. e) Place the seal on the lid and close the jar using 2 clips, placing them on opposite sides in the grooves of the lid and pressing them down so that they slide over the side edge of the lid and latch onto the protruding part of the jar's rim. NOTE: Follow the guidelines in the recipe. If the temperature is too high or the contents of the jar are heated too rapidly, the seal may be pushed out or some of the product may get between the seal and the lid. (f) The manufacturer recommends pasteurising 'wet', i.e. in a vessel with water at the correct temperature. If you pasteurise "dry" in the oven - remember that the gasket melts at 130°C. g) Once pasteurisation is complete, leave the jars at room temperature to cool completely for at least 24 hours. After this period you can remove the clips. Note: Never turn WECK® jars upside down during pasteurisation, cooling and storage! (h) Store preserves in a dark, dry and cool place, away from areas subject to sudden temperature fluctuations. i) Weck jars can be used for baking cakes or desserts in the oven at temperatures up to 200°C. NOTE: Remember to preheat the jars at the same time as the oven. If cold jars are placed in a heated oven, they may break. j) When sterilising preserves in WECK jars, the temperature must not be exceeded 130°C due to the heat resistance of the rubber seal. k) Remember that the products to be preserved should be thoroughly washed and the fruit and vegetables 'healthy' - without rotten or mouldy parts. This will affect both the shelf life and the appearance and taste of the preserves.
