Push pins, like pushpins, do their job. However, I think that they are a bit too big in comparison with dedicated maps. I have the largest map of the world in size XL and a few pins are effectively covering all of Europe;)

if you have a map then you have to have pins and if you travel a lot you have to have these pins more than in the set :)
