Product description
Description
"Jane" describes the way the Chinese word is pronounced, meaning a bamboo mat that for centuries was used as writing paper. The mat consisted of a series of gently convex, interconnected bamboo slats. The presented platter was created as part of the "(Un)Forbidden City" project, comprising 8 products created by 8 top architects of the Middle Kingdom. The product was created in the shape of a 'jane', but the bamboo slats have been replaced by gold-coloured anodised aluminium elements. Like the original, the platter can be rolled up for convenient carrying.
