Product description
Description
The story of the creation of the Walker wall sconce presented here should begin with the history of The Silo building, which in 2017 became a new landmark on the map of Copenhagen's Nordhavnen district. This former silo, 17 storeys and 62 metres tall, has been brought back to life by a team of architects and designers who have created 40 flats inside. Each of them is different, but in each of them the Walker wall lamp featured here! This is because the project by Soren Rose Studio is a wall lamp that combines elements of retro design with modern functionality and the Scandinavian love of simplicity and minimalism. The brass wall lamp consists of a semicircular lampshade placed on an arm with a cylindrical cross-section. The connecting element between the lampshade and the arm allows the light to be directed in any direction - straight down, against the wall or upwards. The Walker can also be installed as a ceiling lamp. A textile braided cable is included with the product. When the arm is extended, the wall lamp has a depth of 40 cm (20 cm when the arm is bent).
The lamps in the Tribeca collection were designed by the Soren Rose Studio, a New York-based design studio founded by Danish designer Soren Rose. It is therefore no surprise that the lamps in the series (wall lamps, chandeliers, table lamps and pendant lamps), in addition to their Scandinavian simplicity, have a character straight out of the drawing rooms of 1930s New York. The name of the collection also refers to the New York atmosphere and is borrowed from the name of the extremely popular part of lower Manhattan - The Triangle Below Canal Street - TriBeCa. In search of inspiration for the lamps in the collection, Soren Rose travelled almost all over the United States, collecting beautiful old lamps and parts from lamps, wall lamps, etc. that no one needed anymore. The collection gathered in this way, led to the creation of the series, characterised by retro-chic, elegant details and glamorous glamour.
