Trends in kitchen fashion. Aprons for her ( household ) majesty

Originally they were supposed to protect the clothes from grease splashes and stains of sauce. They appeared at a time when no one had even heard of washing machines and women wore beautiful multi-layered dresses. These gowns were protected with kitchen aprons. Today we still use them, but we have replaced the white shapeless rags... You will not believe what the most fashionable housewives wear today!

Hollywood aprons

We remember perfectly how our mothers and grandmothers would walk around the kitchen wearing those snow-white aprons stained with tomato sauce or beetroots. However, the fashion for this protective garment was only in the kitchen. When guests or a neighbour came to visit, the white garment immediately landed on a hanger. Today, women dressed in kitchen aprons can be seen even on TV. Their fashion was promoted, among others, by heroines of popular American series. We follow the example of beautiful Nicole Kidman from "Wives of Stepford", who parades in charming colourful aprons or, like the distinguished Bree Van De Kamp in "Ready for anything", we put on an apron and pearls around the neck.

In a kitchen or at the party?

Apart from aprons in traditional white, there are also models in darker colours and even in fiery red. Fans of Scandinavian design will certainly be delighted with vertical stripes or subtle check. It is also worthwhile to get acquainted with the offer of the COOKie brand, which went one step further and prepared something completely innovative, aprons resembling elegant dresses.

Historical inspirations

Many ladies choose extremely feminine aprons tied up in the waist and spread down. They've caught our eye too! They certainly bring to mind the feminine fashion of the 60s. It was the retro style that inspired their creation. After the end of the Second World War, there came a period which favoured the development of trends. It was then that the dresses and skirts were made to fit the waist and were wider at the bottom. They emphasized women's strengths while hiding imperfections.

Fashion modelled on classic chic has now also come to the kitchen. It is hard to resist the charm of these amazing kitchen outfits. Thanks to them cooking enters a completely new, much more pleasant dimension. And the soup stains? Even they won't be able to take away their charm and elegance.
