Product description

Description

The legendary minimalist design by celebrated French designer Philippe Starck is back in the showrooms. And literally! Re-introduced to the Alessi range in 2010, the Walter Wayle II clock was designed over 20 years ago, and over that time has become one of the icons of contemporary design. The clock-sculpture, for this is probably the best way to describe its character, consists of two hands, an hour hand and a minute hand, which, with their organic shape and soft lines, resemble the wings of a powerful, strong bird. Moving around their axis as time passes, they cast an intriguing shadow on the wall, which emphasises the dramatic expression of this design. The absence of a classic dial represents a contrast to the precise notion of time, while at the same time inviting reflection. Given that this clock is part of the permanent exhibition of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, we are guaranteed a unique and top quality product. The Walter Wayle II is available in a dark grey colour and has a smooth, matt surface, so it will match walls of various colours and textures. The clock is equipped with a quartz movement powered by an AA type battery. Poetic, sensual and... timeless. Power supply: AA battery (supplied).

I was surprised that it is so small, basically it is on the palm of your hand. According to me, the product is not worth the price. A piece of plastic, and the price ...

It gives unique effects thanks to the changing setting of tips. It's great, it's a shame it's not a bit bigger. I am very happy with the purchase and recommend it.

A very interesting, modern form. On our wall it looks intriguing, although it could be bigger. 25cm is in the longest place (9:15 am)

More about this product

The clock requires quite careful assembly: The clock suspension should be fixed so that the wheel, which is part of the hand, does not touch the wall. The pin should be driven into the wall at a 90-degree angle, and the plane of the back surface of the wheel should be parallel to the wall. This will ensure that the clock does not touch the wall and that its hands are not inhibited by anything.
