Mysqueeze Citrus squeezer

There is an interesting story associated with the mysqueeze lemon squeezer, as with many products from the Italian 'Dream Factory' Alessi. The tool's design found its way into the Alessi catalogue by a happy twist of fate. In 2009, the author of the concept for the squeezer, a young German designer, entered the accessory in the 'Pure Creativity' competition organised by the British online portal 'Mydeco'. Philippe Starck, who was a member of the jury, took notice of the young German's design and not only awarded the main trophy to the squeezer, but also called Alberto Alessi with an offer that could not be refused - "You should produce this!", communicated the French classicist to the owner of the "Dream Factory". Thus, the mysqueeze appeared in Alessi's Autumn-Winter 2010 collection representing, in the words of Alberto Alessi, an homage to Philippe Starck's classic design, the Juicy Salif squeezer.
The Mysqueeze has been manufactured in high-quality stainless steel, the spirally twisted body of the squeezer consists of contoured rungs joined at the ends. The unusual design without a clearly defined handle allows two halves of a citrus fruit to be squeezed at the same time. The fact that the mysquueze is hollow inside gives the design its appeal. In addition, in the shape of the squeezer, with a little imagination you can see the shape of a lemon.
