Ovale Platter 32 cm

The Ovale tableware collection is Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec 's debut in the Alessi catalogue. There is no other way to describe it as a successful debut - the mesmerising, soothing delicacy of the dinnerware included in Ovale is memorable and impressive despite the simple forms used. Made of stoneware, polished stainless steel and glass, the series is based on the shape of a rounded trapezoid and rectangle, the combination of uncomplicated form and neutral, elegant materials is responsible for the very delicate expression of the dinnerware included in the collection. The designers indicated that they wanted to achieve a simple, traditional, rustic but original effect. The traditional or even primitive roots of the collection are evidenced by the use of a matte, irregular surface instead of pristine white and lacquered for some dishes. Ovale will work well in modern, ascetic inter iors as well as in traditional, minimalist Scandinavian interiors in the vicinity of raw wood. Despite its delicacy, the collection gathered on the table has a strong effect on the senses, shaping the space around it, giving it a raw character.
