La Stanza Dello Scirocco Tray

La Stanza dello Scirocco's product designs are the result of the work of Mario Trimarchi. In designing the platters, baskets and bowls, the designer was inspired by the magical atmosphere of waiting in old Sicilian houses, rooms used to wait out the spring and autumn winds carrying dust from Africa. There are no windows in these rooms, often a single source of light. Hence, Mario Trimarchi placed great emphasis on the play of light and shadow in his designs. The objects that make up the collection are based on rectangular pieces of steel joined together in the desired shapes. The austere designs catch the eye, spreading an abstract aura around them.
The tray on display is characterised by the hexagonal shape of the surface. The uniform underside of the dish is surrounded by the constellations of interconnected steel cards characteristic of the La Stanza dello Scirocco collection. The tray was designed primarily as a decorative element and works best as an eye-catching, resting object in one place. However, La Stanza dello Scirocco can also be used for serving. The tray is available in three finishes.
